3. Treat your skin with love

Daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin (although men seem to benefit from daily shaving).

To keep it gentle:

Limit your time in the bath. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm — rather than hot — water. Also try and find a skin friendly soap without any added artificial scents.

Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers.

Pat your face and body dry. After washing or bathing, gently blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin – and don’t skimp on towels, buy cotton rich towels – they’ll last longer than man made fabrics and they’ll treat your skin right.

Moisturize dry skin. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type. For daily use, consider a moisturizer that contains SPF. If you don’t know your PH balance then visit a beautician or a high end fragrance counter at your local mall – they’ll be delighted to help you out.
